Treating Your Musculoskeletal Pain

Victoria, BC.

Telemedicine and telephone appointments
Change in speed limit on Prospect lake Rd: please note there is now a new stretch of 30 km/hour on the road
PLEASE READ BEFORE COMING TO YOUR APPOINTMENT: these precautions reduce the risk of Covid-19 for everyone concerned and allow us to remain open to treat urgent pain conditions.
*All patients coming to our office at this time are requested to wear a MEDICAL MASK. This is a directive from Public Health. It does help to reduce the infection rate.
*Wash your hands just before you come.
*If you have one, please bring a hand sanitizer to use immediately before you enter the office.
*Please stay 2 metres (6 feet) away from the reception area and our receptionists.
*If you come early, after you let us know you have arrived, please wait outside on the patio or in your car until you are called inside.
*If someone is accompanying you, they need to remain in the car while you are treated. We can only have the minimum number of people in the office at this time.

Please note that our receptionist hours are different to usual, and leave us a message if you get the answering machine when you call. OFFICE HOURS: 930 AM to 5 PM Tuesday-Thursday.

3 questions to see if you should come to your appointment; if yes, then please cancel.
  1. Do you currently have any respiratory or flu symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat or breathing difficulties?
  2. Have you or any of your close contacts travelled outside of Canada including the USA in the last 14 days?
  3. Have you knowingly been in contact with anyone who has COVID-19 or is being investigated for this?

  • If you have any respiratory symptoms (colds, coughs, fever), cancel your appointment! No fees will be charged but we would like as much notice as possible.
  • If you only need a phone or telemedicine consultation, we will be arranging this too: please ask us.
  • If you are over 70 years old, you have to determine your own risk vs benefit to decide if you wish to come or not. Some provinces recommend you should stay home/self-isolate if you are over 70.
  • 2 people only in the waiting room at any one time please, to observe physical distancing
  • If you have accompanied anyone to their appointment, once they are in our office please wait either outside on our patio or in your car.
  • If you arrive early for your appointment, check in with our front staff then wait outside or in your car until your appointment time.
  • Bring a coat, gloves and hat in case you decide to wait outside.
  • If you need a drink, have this in your car before you come in. Leave as many items as possible in your vehicle and bring as little as possible into the office. If you are wearing a coat or jacket, bring it into the examination room with you.
  • We already wipe down all clinical surfaces in between each patient with medicated wipes.
  • We will be wiping our surfaces, reception counter and our bank machine between all patients, and encourage you to use “tap” where possible on the bank machine.
  • If you have been travelling outside of Canada in the last 2 weeks you will need to reschedule your appointment as you need to be self-isolating.

We continue to monitor the situation daily and will post any updates on our website.
Yours in health,
Drs David and Jannice Bowler

Covid-19/Coronavirus: please call to cancel your appointment if you are sick. We will not charge late-notice fees for health reasons. We want to keep everyone safe, so please stay in your car if you arrive early (after letting our staff know you are here), as we only have a small waiting room. Remember to wash your hands, and stay home if you are ill. Please read the very important notice above about COVID-19, before you come. www.bccdc.ca is a reliable website for more information.

Normal hours: the office is usually open Tuesday - Thursdays 9:30 am- 4:30 pm most weeks. Please note that Drs David and Jannice Bowler have different individual days/hours. Please check the website for questions about the different treatments we offer as well as for directions to our clinic. Yes, you do need a referral from your family doctor, specialist, or a walk-in clinic before we can book an appointment for you.  A sample referral form is under the "for physicians" tab for your doctor to use if they wish.
